Phuket

Back from a great weekend in Phuket, our first visit to this island. We had a lovely time with good company in form of Barbro, Douglas and Thom and "Nana and Popa". After four days of hard work it was time for a lot of good food, bathing in the sea/pool, sightseeing and of course a lot of play. We lived in the southern parts called Panwa. It´s a quiet and relaxed part of Phuket wich was perfect since we where happy to get away from the city for a while.

Relaxing weekend

Just a very short update. We are now back from Malaysia, a great trip including durian, bath in the sea and mosquitos. Photos will come shortly. Yesterday we spent infront of the TV and the news, terrible news. It was really hard to understand what has happen. Our thoughts goes to Norway.

Today we have had a cultural trainer here and now we know everything about Singapore ;-) No maybe not everthing, we still need to learn a lot, but it was a great training with lots of great tips.

But now the weekend is over and new adventures are to come. I´m going back to Malaysia on Tuesday and Thursday will take us to Barbro and Douglas in Thailand.

Linnéa och Mathias

Biltur i Malaysia. Ett land med gigantiska ytor täckta av palmodlingar.

Ett stop på Nan Yang Café i Segamat där vi drack kaffe och åt kaya-toast som är vitt bröd med smör och en kräm på kokosnöt, ägg och socker.

Segamat är också en stad känd för sina Durianfrukter. Durian luktar riktigt illa och enligt oss smakar den inte jättegott heller. I Singapore får man inte ha med dem i t ex taxibilar, på tunnelbanan eller i köpcentrum.

För att bli av med doften på händerna sköljer man vatten över frukten ner på händerna.

Hotellet i Kuantan var riktigt trevligt.

Och stranden var fin den med.

Back in Singapore

We read in the news paper (Aftonbladet) today that it is enough with three weeks of vacation and that could be one reasons to why it was great to come back "home". Another reason is that this is starting to feel like a real home. We have stopped counting the days we have spent at Ikea and we hope to not go there in a nearby future. Below you can see some pictures from our flat.

Besides decorating the apartment we where invited to Min who prepared a really nice Korean dinner.

Thursday I leave for my first trip to Malaysia, my second one is next week.... before we leave for Thailand next weekend.

Swedish vacation summary.

Here´s a short summary of our vacation in Sweden. It started with something Linnéa thought was a surprise party for Mathias but it turned out to be a surprise for both of us. Many of our friends had organized a nice evening for us.

The week to come we spent some time building or more destroying Linnéa´s parents house.

Then there was midsummer´s eve and we invited ourselves to some friends and spent a really nice evening there. During the day we went to the football field in Öxabäck and joined the yearly celebration there. Waking up the day after we went for a walk in the woods with our friend´s and a goat.

The next week we went on a roadtrip and started of in Nynäshamn where we lived right by the sea. Then we continued to Stockholm and met Robin and Tove and got to be the first night guests in their new flat.

We travelled further north to Sundsvall and got company by a tired brother of Mathias. In Sundsvall we went to a really fun party for Maria who turned 30.

From here we drove down south again and stopped one night in Varberg to play table tennis and ride longboard and of course to meet a good friend, Johan, and also to celebrate Mathias grand grand mother on her 90th birthday.

From Varberg we went to Mölndal and met Ann and Niclas in their new flat. After spending one night there we went for a short trip to Linnéa´s favorite island Hönö.

Then we had to go home to prepair the food for the big party we where having before we left. And a nice party it was. So now we´re back in Singapore happy and in need of vacation...
